HVAC Equipment Supply Issues Due To COVID-19
Over the past several months, the coronavirus pandemic has greatly impacted logistics and manufacturing. As a result, waiting times for supplies has increased drastically. And the HVAC industry has not been left unaffected by this.
Many manufacturers have experienced trouble supplying equipment to businesses. Due to Florida’s current COVID numbers, some truck drivers are not willing to enter into the state. This has made logistics across the state a nightmare for HVAC business owners.
On top of that, the Mexican supply chain that so many HVAC companies rely on, shut down for two months—creating massive delays in delivery of parts. Although many manufacturers are back up and running, due to social distancing requirements, they are not able to produce at their pre-corona levels.
This year’s high temperatures have made demand for HVAC parts and services extremely high. As a result, many HVAC companies are experiencing record breaking sales. But with the issues with the supply chain, shortages are beginning to breakout.
Shortages are also making it more difficult for HVAC businesses to maintain the upkeep of their vehicles. Many vehicle wrap companies are unable to get the necessary supplies for their businesses—which means they are behind on vehicle wrap jobs. While this is not a major factor for HVAC companies, it is another impact these shortages are having on the industry.
